The Calamian Group or the
Calamianes is a group of islands in the western Philippines. There are 98 islands in the group, of which Busuanga Island, Culion Island, Coron Island, and Linapacan Island are the most important. Volcanic in origin, the Calamian Group is largely mountainous and forested, but with some fertile areas yielding rice, sugar cane, tobacco, and tropical fruits. Important industries are cattle-raising and fishing.
